Golden Herbs🌿💜

A mini garden full of fresh flavour, ready to enjoy 🌿💜 🌱

A beautiful and practical combination of coriander, mint, spring onion and viola, thoughtfully planted together in a large black pot. This companion pot brings together everyday kitchen herbs with colourful edible flowers — creating a productive little garden that's as pretty as it is useful.

What’s Included in the Potted Companion:

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) A fragrant, fast-growing herb with fresh, citrusy leaves — perfect for curries, salads, salsas and Asian-inspired dishes.

Mint (Mentha spp.) A refreshing, aromatic herb that's wonderfully versatile in drinks, desserts, salads and savoury dishes.

Spring Onion (Allium fistulosum) A kitchen essential with a mild onion flavour. Harvest the green stems as needed for salads, stir-fries, soups and garnishes.

Viola (Viola spp.) Pretty, colourful edible flowers that add a beautiful finishing touch to salads, desserts, cakes and drinks. They also provide a valuable food source for pollinators.

Planted in a large black speckled pot (28cm)

Why It Works

This combination brings together herbs and flowers that complement each other in both the garden and the kitchen. The viola adds colour and attracts pollinators, while the herbs and spring onion provide a steady supply of fresh flavours for everyday cooking.

Growing a variety of plants together also adds biodiversity to your container garden, creating a more vibrant and balanced little ecosystem.

Grow Tips & Position

Place your Golden Herbs in a bright position with plenty of sunlight, ideally receiving around 4–6 hours of sun each day.

Keep the soil consistently moist but well-drained, particularly during warmer weather. Regular harvesting helps encourage fresh growth and keeps the herbs productive.

Harvest coriander, mint, and spring onion as needed. Viola flowers can also be picked regularly and used fresh.

Mint note: Mint is naturally vigorous and can spread through its roots, so we’ve planted it in a biodegradable cardboard pot within the main pot. This provides some initial root containment while allowing the cardboard to gradually break down over time.

Keep your mint trimmed and regularly harvested to encourage fresh growth and help keep it under control. If it starts to become too vigorous, simply lift it out and replant it into its own pot, where it can happily grow without taking over its companions.
