This abundant Potted Companion is a vibrant trio that thrives together in one sunny pot, combining natural plant partnerships with fresh, homegrown flavour. Jalapeño chilli, coriander and spring onion make the most of the space while attracting beneficial insects and helping create a healthy, productive container garden.
What’s included in the Potted Companion:
Jalapeño Chilli (Capsicum annuum) very hot chilli pepper with a heat rating of 7/10. Produces heavy cops of medium sized fruit which mature to red.
Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) an annual herb with aromatic foliage which is used to flavour soups, curries, chili sauce and exotic dishes.
Spring Onion (Allium fistulosum) an onion with edible white stems and green leaves.
Planted in a large blue pot (W 40cm x H 30cm).
Why it works:
This companion pot brings together jalapeño chilli, coriander and spring onion which thrive in the same sunny growing conditions while naturally supporting one another. The jalapeño provides the main harvest, coriander attracts beneficial insects that help keep pests in check, and spring onions may help deter unwanted insects with their strong aroma. Grow tips & Position:
Best grown in a sunny position that is sheltered from frost. (It has been loving its north facing position against a brick wall.)

Benefits & Uses:
Jalapeño Chilli is rich in vitamin C, vitamin B6 and capsaicin, which has antioxidant properties and may support metabolism. Used in cooking spicy dishes.
Coriander is a good source of vitamins A, C and K, with antioxidants that may support digestion and overall wellbeing. The dried seeds can be harvested when they turn brown and can be added to cakes and cream cheese dishes. The entire coriander plant can be used in cooking – leaves, stems and roots.
Spring Onion contains vitamins A, C and K, along with antioxidants and fibre that support immune health and healthy digestion. Use in salads and sandwiches and a variety of Asian dishes.
