Why it works
A generous mix of spring-flowering bulbs, edible plants and pollinator-friendly flowers, creating a pot that is bursting with colour, fragrance and life.
The daffodils, hyacinth and freesia provide a succession of beautiful spring blooms, while spring onion and rosemary add an edible element. Sweet Alyssum helps attract beneficial insects and adds a soft, fragrant carpet around the other plants.
The bulbs will die back after flowering and return in future seasons, making this an arrangement you can enjoy year after year.
Grow Tips & Position
Position in full sun to part shade, ideally somewhere with good light and airflow.
This pot likes consistently moist but well-drained soil, particularly while the bulbs are actively growing and flowering. Avoid allowing the soil to become waterlogged.
Harvest spring onion as needed, taking only what you need and allowing the plant to continue growing. Rosemary prefers slightly drier conditions once established, so allow the surface of the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
After flowering, allow the bulb foliage to naturally yellow and die back before removing it. This allows the bulbs to store energy for next season.
Benefits & Uses
Enjoy fresh spring onion and rosemary in everyday cooking.
Rosemary is rich in antioxidants and has traditionally been valued for supporting memory, digestion, and overall wellbeing.
Spring onions provide vitamins, minerals, and beneficial plant compounds, while also adding fresh flavour to salads, dressings, and cooked dishes.
Sweet Alyssum provides nectar for bees and other beneficial insects, helping support a healthy, biodiverse garden.
With fragrant hyacinth, colourful freesia and cheerful daffodils returning each season, this pot brings colour, fragrance and edible goodness to your garden year after year.
